Lumino
Our company, Lumino, aims to relieve traffic congestion and better protect the safety of drivers and pedestrians. Living in a thriving city like Ottawa means that we often experience traffic jams on our way to and back from school when the traffic volume is high. For us, a delay caused by slow traffic often means that we will be late for school, but we also understand that traffic congestion can have much more harmful consequences. Traffic congestion can cause financial loss and damage to the environment. Our team wants to contribute to our community and improve the traffic management industry by releasing our products AITOS (AI-based intelligent traffic optimization system) and AINS (AI-based intelligent navigation system).
AITOS(AI-based traffic optimization system)
AITOS will help reduce traffic congestion by contributing directly to the change of traffic lights. We will gather the necessary traffic data using our device, TDM (traffic data module), and our navigation application. TDM will be equipped with LiDAR cameras, which use pulsated lasers to map its surroundings. Because of this functionality, LiDAR cameras will allow TDMs to effectively record traffic.

As TDMs are recording traffic, they will utilize the Real Time Vehicle Detection Algorithm to provide real time visual traffic data. TDMs will send this information through a network to our server, which will be equally partitioned in each city.

AINS (AI-Base Navigation System)
Our navigation software, AINS (AI based navigation system), which will be available on mobile devices and Automated Vehicles, will provide digital traffic data. Devices with our software will periodically send data packets, containing the IP address, positional data, and velocity, of the device, to our server.
